In todays economy, when a lot of hospitals are being left with half budgets, a lot of them are going after some used equipment. Like the
scanner machines that are not that hard to fix. Now, on the other hand that raises a lot of questions about the safety of the patients that are being treated with the almost falty equipment, but on the other hand, it's better to have equipment that can fail from time to time, than to not have any at all (take a look at Africa!).
But, if you think about it, in the long run, used medical machinery is going to cost more every time! I mean, all the repears are going to overload the budget anyways, and the chances of a new machine breaking down are about 10 times smaller than the used ones. Think about it, if they are working, wouldn't the hospital that had them, keep them?
