Scanner Machines

In todays economy, when a lot of hospitals are being left with half budgets, a lot of them are going after some used equipment. Like the scanner machines that are not that hard to fix. Now, on the other hand that raises a lot of questions about the safety of the patients that are being treated with the almost falty equipment, but on the other hand, it's better to have equipment that can fail from time to time, than to not have any at all (take a look at Africa!).

But, if you think about it, in the long run, used medical machinery is going to cost more every time! I mean, all the repears are going to overload the budget anyways, and the chances of a new machine breaking down are about 10 times smaller than the used ones. Think about it, if they are working, wouldn't the hospital that had them, keep them?

Why this blog?

The immidiate answer that comes to mind is - why not? But that is not really an answer now, is it?

I watch a lot of medical shows and I kinda got interested in medical terminology and equipment. I watch "House", "Scrubs", Grey's Anathomy" and so I couldn't miss the terms that sounded a lot like something out of an alien language. So, I tried to
 understand it all.

Medical Equipment can be devided into:

Diagnostic

Therapeutic

Life support

Medical monitors

Medical laboratory equipment

Diagnostic Medical
Equipment

Next time, I will start by writing about scaner machines, as they are one of the foundations in modern day medicine.

Till next time, stay in good health!
